about

Sam wrote this track after being inspired by the Sound Cycle album title - Warp, and not vice versa, which is just fine by us..Everthing on this track was played by Sam, during a very hardworking session, in one afternoon.
Sam Johnston is a young musician and performer from the Scottish Borders currently taking advanced Highers at Earlston High School. He performs on a diverse range of instruments enabling him to express his musicality. An accomplished performer with a confidence that belies his years, whether solo or as part of a group he already has an impressive assortment of performances and venues for a youngster.

Sam is enthusiastic about the values of both playing and performing music. He is passionate about equity of access. Having witnessed the positive effects of music therapy on his nonverbal brother he initiated a "music group" at Earlston High School within the pupil support department, helping those who cannot access music in a mainstream environment to also benefit from musical expression. In keeping with his values of promoting wider access he is taking a deferred entry to university so that he can volunteer with various organisations to pursue this aim.

lyrics

'..And if you're feeling crazy with me, and if you think that you'll distort, and if you feel this world could save me, I guess you're going to see it Warp."
